Search Results Open In New Tab

Open search results from the search box in a new tab (instead of the current tab)

Works with: Firefox 3.6+

Background

By default Firefox displays the results of a search query within the current tab.

The Tweak

A simple about:config entry change will display search results in a new tab:

1. In a new tab enter about:config in the address bar and press enter
2. Copy and paste into the filter field browser.search.openintab
3. Double click the entry so the value changes to TRUE
