To keep the install file as small as possible Firefox is pre-loaded with a few basic features. However, Firefox allows you to customize your browser with add-ons. There are currently over 5000 different add-ons for Firefox. There are three types of Add-ons:
- Extensions - small add-ons that add new functionality to Firefox.
- Themes - skins for Firefox.
- Plugins - special add-on which allow Firefox to perform a particular function
